A First for British Sign Language Training in Devon
The Train4Tomorrow programme, led by the Department for Education and supported by Devon County Council, is designed to give adults the opportunity to build in-demand skills for the future. Until now, very few funded opportunities have been available for learners wishing to study British Sign Language.
With this award, Complete Training is proud to break new ground, ensuring that BSL training is not only accessible, but also funded for eligible individuals.
“As a deaf person, this means the world to me. To see British Sign Language finally being recognised and supported through government funding is something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. These courses will open doors, break down barriers, and make communication between deaf and hearing communities stronger than ever.”
– Sharon Saunders, Deaf Culture Specialist and Lead Teacher, Complete Training
Proud to Lead the Way
The Inclusivity Group and Complete Training have always worked to make communication, inclusion, and accessibility a priority. Being chosen as a provider for this important government initiative is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our team.
“I am incredibly proud of our whole team at Complete Training and The Inclusivity Group, who worked tirelessly to make this possible. Their commitment to our vision and mission is inspiring. In all my years working in education and accessibility, I have never known of funding like this being made available for British Sign Language courses. This is a historic and beautiful step forward for inclusion.”
– Daryl McMullan, CEO, The Inclusivity Group
Building Inclusive Communities
This initiative goes beyond qualifications. Every funded place contributes to our wider social give-back fund, which provides:
- Free BSL taster sessions
- BSL education resources for schools and youth groups
- Funded course spaces for individuals most in need
By joining, learners are not just gaining skills – they are part of a movement to build a more inclusive society.
